USB Ports!
08.22.09
Couple of different reasons USB ports can go bad Stag01. It’s possible that the drivers for the ports aren’t installed correctly – open Device Manager on a Windows PC and see if any of the devices have a ! next to them. If they do and they are something like a “USB Controller” then that may be your issue.
It’s also possible that the USB ports somehow became shorted out (My mother did this to her laptop a few years ago). A quick solution is to buy a PCMCIA Card (Or simply PC-Card) with USB Ports on it. This works well on laptops, however for a desktop you may need to buy a PCI Card / USB controller.
Lastly, it could simply be that the USB ports are disabled in Windows or BIOS, in which case you’d need to check those settings.
And since most of my replies are humorous, I’ll add that USB ports not working certainly isn’t funny. But imagining a grizzly bear driving recklessly down a highway is. It’s a fact!
